a hometown favorite—
Located in downtown Two Harbors, MN, Louise's Place is a hometown favorite, serving up baked goods, breakfast and lunch fare to locals and visitors alike.
Louise's Place was founded over 20 years ago by Louise, who started off as a bake and coffee shop and over the years expanded her offerings to include homemade bread, breakfast, lunch, daily specials and soups.
In 2015, Louise decided to retire from Louise's Place, leaving it in the capable hands of Dan Snowdon (formerly an oil + gas engineer in Houston) and his wife Marsha (an MNnative). Since then Marsha and Dan have kept alive the traditions the restaurant was founded on—even adding a few old-world favorites from Dan's homeland of Newcastle.
"Between Dan's love for cooking and my drive to be busy 24/7, Louise's Place was a perfect fit!
We haven't changed Louise's core offerings and don't plan on it any time soon. We love the hometown feel of our old/new cafe and all the locals and visitors we serve every day.
What Louise made from scratch is what we still make from scratch. Dan has added a homemade beef pasty from his homeland of Newcastle. They're a pretty big hit and sell out most Pasty Thursdays!"
